Installing a licence on a new system

The following document provides pre-installation notes for administrators, processes for installing an Apteco software licence for the first time/installing a licence via .xml file, and some further information/reading for reference.

Installing a licence for the first time

You can install a licence for the first time either via the .xml file or the Licence Key.

Note: If you are installing a licence via the .xml file, then you must copy the .xml file onto the FastStats application server. For this reason, it is preferable to use the Licence Key when this has been supplied.

To install a licence for the first time on systems running Apteco software:

  1. Run the FastStats Configurator on the FastStats application server.

  2. Select FastStats Services.

  3. Click Licensing.

  4. Click Install.

  5. Choose the relevant FastStats Service from the Service dropdown menu.

  6. Choose the relevant System from the System dropdown menu.

  7. To install via a Licence File, click the ellipsis button to the right of the Licence File textbox in order to browse to the licence .xml file.

    To install via a Licence Key simply copy the supplied key into the Licence Key textbox.

  8. Click Install.

  9. When the licence is listed, click OK.

Installing a licence via the Licence Key

You can install a licence via the supplied Licence Key.

To install a licence in a new system:

  1. Run the FastStats Configurator on the FastStats application server.

  2. Select FastStats Services.

  3. Click Licensing.

  4. Click Install.

  5. Choose the relevant FastStats Service from the Service dropdown.

  6. Choose the relevant system from the System dropdown.

  7. Either click the ellipsis button to navigate to the supplied .xml Licence File, or enter the supplied Licence Key.

  8. Click Install.

  9. When the licence is listed, click OK.
