Installing an updated licence

You might have been issued with an updated licence from Apteco, for instance after an annual renewal. In this case, we don’t advise removing your currently installed licence before installing the new one. Administrators should instead use the ’Update’ licence option.

Note: With releases prior to the Q1 2019 release, removing a licence also removes user configuration settings that you might have specified, for example, the assignment of users to functionality within the software.

Note: For systems running the Q1 2019 release or later, you can safely use the ’Remove’ option to uninstall an existing licence.

Updating a licence file via .xml file

To update a licence file via a supplied .xml file:

  1. Log onto the FastStats application server which runs the FastStats Service(s).

  2. Run the FastStats Configurator.

  3. Select FastStats Services.

  4. Click Licensing.

  5. Highlight the relevant system name.

  6. Click Update.

  7. Browse to the supplied .xml file and click Open.

  8. The Updated date changes to reflect the new licence.

  9. Click OK.
