Administrator defined time window for Orbit updates
Note: Orbit administrators can define a time window for the Orbit Updater to check for and apply Orbit updates. To assist administrators, we've provided some steps below to navigate this process.
This feature allows administrators to specify a period of time during which Orbit updates can be applied, so that users are not disrupted during normal working hours.
The settings in the Update Time Window section are used to control whether the Orbit Updater Service initiates an update, should there be one available.
To set the Update Time Window:
-
Open the FastStats Orbit Updater Configurator.
-
Click the Advanced tab.
-
Tick the Update Time Window checkbox to enable the setting.
-
Specify Start and End hours using the relevant drop down menus (00:00 - 23:00).
This is the window during which it will start, run continuously, and end. If an update is detected within that time window, then it proceeds and updates fully.
-
Click File > Save to save the configuration change.
-
Restart the FastStats Orbit Updater Service for these changes to take effect. Orbit updates typically take about 5 - 10 mins.
Note: The time window specified is measured against the local time zone of the server that is running the Orbit updater service.
