# Specify your own ranges

## Specify your own ranges

As a user you can specify any number or size of ranges by selecting the User Defined Ranges option.

When first selected, a blank text editor is displayed for you to type in the required ranges. Alternatively, the **Edit** button can be used to edit the current set of [Equal](<https://help.apteco.com/en/faststats/analysis/selections/numeric-banding/equal-ranges/index.md>), [Geometric](<https://help.apteco.com/en/faststats/analysis/selections/numeric-banding/geometric-ranges/index.md>) or [Quantile](<https://help.apteco.com/en/faststats/analysis/selections/numeric-banding/quantiles/index.md>) ranges.
