# Focus node panel

The lower half of the screen is the Focus Node panel. This displays detailed information about a single node, known as the *focus node*. This node is also highlighted with a red border in the tree views in the upper panel.

## Set the focus node

To set the *focus node*:

- Either click on a node: The focus node is the last node which the user has clicked during selecting or de-selecting.
- Or hover over a node while pressing the *shift* key.
