# Screen areas

## Tree view panel (top half)

This is the main working area to view the whole tree and to make selections. The status bar at the bottom of these tabs gives a summary of the current selection. The following alternative views of the tree can be selected from the tabs in the Tree View Panel. These are explained in more detail below:

The [Status Bar](<https://help.apteco.com/en/faststats/modelling/decision-tree/using-the-output/change-status-bar/index.md>) at the bottom of each Tree View gives summary information about either the current selection, or the whole tree (if no selection is currently made).

## Focus node panel (bottom half)

This gives views of a single node. This is referred to as the *focus node* and is highlighted with a red border in the other views. The Focus Node Panel gives a graphical view of a node using a [torus](<https://help.apteco.com/en/faststats/modelling/decision-tree/using-the-output/torus-donut/index.md>), and provides the following alternative views of the focus node selected from the tabs:
