# Add user codes

You can add user code columns on to a Data Grid. Every record will then be given that user code.

## Adding user codes

To add a user code:

1. Click the **Add User Code** menu option on the Data Grid toolbar
2. Enter a column **Heading Description** and then specify the **Data Grid Value** to be given to each record
3. Click the **Add** button
4. Click the **Build** button to build the Data Grid.
