# Sharing

You can share Audiences, Collections, Compositions, Dashboards, and [campaign templates](<https://help.apteco.com/en/orbit/resources/templates/#share-a-template>) with individuals (any licensed user on the system) or a Group (configured in the FastStats system). You can also share with external users, controlled by permitted email domains.

> Non-licensed users can view visualisations but can't view the underlying data.

## To share an item

1. Select the **Share** icon.
2. Enter text to search for a **User** or **Group**, or enter an external email address.

   > **Tip**
   >
   > External users don't need to be licensed on the system. They can self-register using a two-stage process that proves they control the email address. An administrator must first add the email domain to the list of permitted domains. See [Orbit API Configurator](<https://help.apteco.com/en/admin/installation/orbit-installation-guide/orbit-api-configurator/index.md>) for the email domain settings.

   Depending on what you're sharing, you can also include a **Note** or **Email message**.

   >
   > The **Notify existing users of update** option displays if someone has already shared the item. The checkbox is selected by default. New and existing users get a notification if you keep it selected.
3. Select the **Share** icon.
