Cube: How do I re-order, edit, hide or delete statistics in a Cube?

To re-order, edit, hide or delete statistics in a Cube, click on the Statistics icon to display the Statistics dialog window.

Rename a Statistic

The default description of the statistic will be applied when creating a Cube. To rename a statistic in the display:

  • Click on the Edit… button - for example, on the Mean(Cost) row

  • On the window that appears, check the box Use Custom Statistics Name and enter an appropriate description

  • Click OK

The corresponding column header within the cube will now reflect the changes made.

Format

By default, the format of a statistic is set according to variable type and through the design process.

Within the cube display, it is possible to edit the default format by selecting from the drop down list. For example, you may wish to display currencies without the thousand separators, or real numbers with 4 decimal places rather than 2.

Hide a Statistic in the Display

Checking or unchecking these boxes will display or hide that statistics column. In addition, the statistics in the hidden column(s) will be still available and active in the Cube. This can be useful for hiding results of interim calculations or just showing some of the statistics that have been calculated.

Primary Statistic

Thematic shading will apply to the figures of whichever statistic has been checked.

Edit a Statistic

Clicking on this button will open the relevant statistic for editing.

Delete a Statistic

Clicking on this button will open a confirmation window which will allow you to permanently delete the relevant statistic.

Re-ordering Statistics in the Cube Display

The statistics' columns in a cube display can be re-ordered.

  • Open the Statistics dialog window

  • Using a left click, drag the required statistic into its new position - a red insertion line indicates where the statistic can be placed

  • Click OK
