Behavioural modelling - distinguish zeros

You should be aware of the significance of distinguishing zeros when working with count dimensions.

At times, such as in the Count(Activities) Sport dimension example, a record could fall into the zero range for one of two reasons:

  1. The person has no sports activities.

  2. The person has no sports activities within the specified time window.

Distinguish zeros can help you to get more meaningful proportions as it removes people who have no activities of any kind within the time window.

The resulting dimension is clearly marked with an asterisk to indicate that the distinguish zeros option is in effect:
