Expression: FastStats Variables

It is often useful to use FastStats variables in expressions, for example to work out the amount of V.A.T. from a cost variable. The variables are shown in the expression surrounded by square brackets, as below.

[Holiday Cost]

To add a variable to the expression, you can either drag one from the System Explorer, or type one directly in. Note that when you type an open square bracket [ in the expression panel, a list of available fields is provided.

The variables that can be used in any expression depend on which resolve table the expression is using. Only variables from the same table or a direct ancestor table can be used. If an invalid variable is entered, it will be underlined in red.

The type of FastStats variables that van be used depends on the context. Numeric variables can be used in math functions, string variables in string functions and date variables in date functions.
