View audiences
To see a list of audiences already created in Orbit
Open the audiences panel
- Click on View Audiences
Audiences marked NEW are queries recently created which have not been viewed again since Orbit automatically saved.
Within a listed Audience, you have various icons and options:
For example, on the right, the icon indicates the “shared” status for this Audience, with the colour indicating that:
Green – this Audience has been shared by you with others
Red – this Audience has not been shared by you
Purple – this Audience has been shared to you from another
Sharing an Audience
You can share an Audience in Orbit, a tooltip indicates if the Audience has previously been shared and shows a count.
Sharing in Orbit
You can share Audiences, Collections, Compositions and Dashboards with individuals (any licensed user on the system), a Group (configured in the FastStats system), or external users controlled by permitted email domains.
Non licensed users can view visualisations but cannot view the underlying data
To share an item:
- Click the Share icon
The share dialogue opens
- Enter text to search for a User or Group or enter an external email address
External users do not need to be licensed on the system but can self register using a two stage process proving they have control of the email address. The the email domain must be added to the list of permitted domains by an administrator. See Configuring Allowed Email Domains
Depending on what you are sharing you can also include a Note or Email message.
The Notify existing users of update displays if the item has previously been shared, the check box will be selected by default, new and existing users will get a notification if selected.
- Click the Share button
Archiving and Unarchiving an Audience
Below the Audience title, you have options to archive or delete that Audience. To access the options:
- Hover your mouse over an Audience to see and click on the ellipsis in the bottom left corner, next to your username
This will display the archive and delete icons
- Select the required option
When you select to archive an Audience, it moves into the archived folder and a confirming window appears, providing the option to Close and confirm or Undo the action, if necessary:
If you want to unarchive an Audience:
- Switch to the Archived tab (bottom left of the page) to display any archived Audiences
- Select your Audience and click on the icon
This will load the selected item back into the Audiences panel and, again, provides the option to confirm or undo the action
Deleting an Audience
When you delete an Audience you have created, it moves into your deleted folder, accessed via the Deleted tab (bottom left of the page). If this Audience has been shared by you with others, it will be removed from their Audiences list and no longer be visible.
You can restore a deleted Audience:
- Click on the icon
Again, you can Close to confirm or Undo the action:
