Data variables

Orbit Audiences share access to the variables held in your customised FastStats system, allowing you to search your data and make selections of records in a variety of ways according to the variable type.

Types of Variables

  • Selector Icon Selector
  • Flag Array Multi-Response
  • Date Icon Date
  • Numeric Icon Numeric
  • Text Icon Text
  • Currency Icon Currency
  • Date Time Icon Date Time
  • URN Icon URN (when Applying Limits to an Audience or creating an Export Template)

Selector

When you use a Selector type variable in an Audience, you have the option to select IS or IS NOT to include or exclude particular categories:

Multi-Response

When you use a Flag Array or Array variable in an Audience, you have the option to select IS or IS NOT to include or exclude particular categories:

Like a Selector, the default logic between categories selected is OR. Should you wish to select based on AND, simply use the same variable twice and apply the AND logic between the rows.

Date

When you use a Date variable in an Audience, you have the option to select IS or IS NOT to include or exclude a particular date or fixed date range:

Click on the calendar icons to access and define the required start and end points for the date or date range:

Numeric

When you use a Numeric variable in an Audience, you have the option to select IS or IS NOT to include or exclude a particular value or range of values:

Specify your value or range of values using the drop-down list of functions:

Enter any further required range or values, clicking Add after each:

Text

When you use a Text variable in an Audience, you have multiple options to select from when defining text criteria:

This includes the ability to search using ranges and wildcards:

Currency

When you use a Cost variable, you have the option to select Is or IS NOT to include or exclude a particular value or fixed value range:
