Editing the channel editor when locked out
To make changes in the Orbit channel editor, you must switch from View mode to Edit mode. However, if another user is already editing a channel and has left their session in Edit mode, then you are prevented from making changes.
Force check-in role
If you have the ‘force check-in’ role, then you can take over a locked channel editor. This allows you to continue your work, while notifying other users about the access change.
This helps to prevent potential conflicts and ensures visibility for multiple users working at the same time in the channel editor.
Editing the channel editor
To check the edit status of the channel editor:
-
In Apteco Orbit, click Account and Settings, then Application settings
-
Click Campaigning Channel Editor to open the editor in View mode.
-
Click Edit.
-
If no-one else is editing the channel editor, then you enter Edit mode.
-
If someone else is editing and you do not have the appropriate edit permission, then you get a notification stating who is currently in Edit mode.
-
If you do have the appropriate edit permission, then you get the option to take over edit access of the channel editor, by clicking Take Over.
If you’re editing the channel editor and another user takes over over edit access, then you receive a notification telling you who is taking over, and that you have lost your unsaved changes.
