Term Definition
Activity reports Activity reports provide an operational summary for a particular campaign or area (not message) for the last day or week. They are meant as a high-level summary to check volumes and activity.
Apteco system selections You can use selections created in your Apteco system to identify your target audience and later analyse the data. These are organised into both private and public sub-folders in the PeopleStage Library. The structure of these reflects the location in your Apteco system.
Areas An area is a group of related campaigns.
Audience step The audience step is where you define who you wish to communicate within your campaign. You usually identify an initial target audience using a series of selections to include - or exclude – the relevant recipients.
Audiences Audiences define who proceeds through a campaign. They can be simple Apteco system selections, interaction selections, or journey selections, but you can also template your own more complex audiences.
Broadcast interaction selections When a PeopleStage campaign sends an email, the Email Service Provider (ESP) can capture various interactions. The number of clicks, opens, bounces, and unsubscribed are the most common to be returned. PeopleStage can then use these interactions as triggers to move individuals through a campaign.
Campaign levels PeopleStage can run campaigns at either the person or transaction level.
Campaign template Example campaign templates help you get started or explore how you can extend your campaign.
Campaigns A campaign is a series of linked messages interconnected with pools where recipients wait until they are selected by an audience for the next step in the campaign.
Channel editor With this function, you can define the different channels to use within PeopleStage.
Channels PeopleStage allows you to use multiple channels for communicating with your audience. These include digital channels such as email, WhatsApp, SMS, social media, mobile push, customer reviews, online advertising, CRM solutions and web analytics, as well as traditional channels like contact centres and direct mail.
Communications reports Communication reports show details of costs and communications per person. At the message level, you can focus on a particular run by any of the content fields or the channel.
Content step Within a message, the content step allows you to personalise the communication by adding information into the output file and/or campaign communication history.
Control channels To test the success of a campaign, you can use a control channel to hold a random sample back from receiving the campaign output. Individuals in the control form part of the communication history which helps analyse any responses to the campaign.
Creative template editor PeopleStage uses a template to send SMS messages. You create the message content in the creative template editor with placeholders (parameters) to be replaced by Apteco system variables. The creative template is also used to add Meta-approved messages to send via the Syniverse WhatsApp integration.
Dashboard The dashboard gives a summary of the marketing activity within an area, campaign, or your whole diagram.
Debug log The debug log is a list of job requests between PeopleStage and Apteco Service, and is mainly used by support departments to resolve issues in PeopleStage.
Delivery step The delivery step is where you define how your target audience receives your campaign.
Diagram activity The diagram activity panel displays details of PeopleStage processes allowing you to monitor progress.
Diagram explorer The diagram explorer allows you to navigate to any part of your Marketing Processes diagram, as well as see and filter the current status of each campaign.
Digital channels Digital channels include email, SMS, WhatsApp, and social media. Depending on the outlet, PeopleStage can gather details of communication interactions. This includes the number of bounces, opens, and clicks, as well as links individuals, click.
Digital interaction selections PeopleStage allows you to use Facebook, Twitter, and Google interaction selections. This depends on the type of digital channel you added to your preceding delivery step.
Digital responses Digital responses are recipient interactions with the communication itself – e.g. opened an email, liked a Facebook post.
Direct posts Within a social network platform, you can deliver a post to your business page. PeopleStage can then track customer engagement for reporting purposes.
Email response reports Email response reports show the number of clicks, opens, bounces, etc. for each email run.
Event triggered A triggered campaign schedule runs after an interaction with the proceeding broadcast or live data rules. For example, a broadcast interaction audience selection step has been set up and a triggered schedule applied. If using a live data selection, once an individual has entered the Live Data database, the audience will run.
Exclusion audiences When creating social ads, you can utilise the data held in your Apteco system to create tailored custom audiences. When selecting targets, the platform considers individual users who meet the demographic and interests of the audience uploaded.
FastStats Email Response Gatherer The FastStats Email Response Gatherer (FERG) is a software engine that runs at defined intervals in the background. It monitors and downloads responses information from your ESP relating to digital interactions.
Interaction selections When an individual interacts with your initial communication through email or social media, you can use interaction selection within the second audience step to decide the customer journey.
Journey selections You can use journey selections to look back through a campaign and see what individuals have already received.
Live status Once you have created your campaign in plan mode, you must check in the changes and set a schedule. You can then Publish this campaign to Live to enable you to send live communications.
Manual approval When you run a campaign you can optionally download and preview a sample of records. When applying manual approval, PeopleStage will prompt you to check the delivery file where you can either approve or reject the delivery.
Marketing effectiveness report This report shows the effectiveness of your marketing through some standard key performance indicators such as Return on Investment and Cost per Responder.
Marketing processes diagram The marketing processes diagram is the main interface where you plan and execute your campaigns.
Marketing reports You can create marketing reports on individual areas, campaigns, and messages.
Message step The message step is where you define relevant content for your message and set the method of delivery via a preconfigured channel.
Messages A message is a single piece of marketing material. These are defined using content, delivery, and/or a response step. A message could be an email, Facebook communication, call centre contact, or a piece of direct mail.
One per aggregations editor This function defines different recencies and determines which transactional data displays within the output file when creating a person level campaign.
PeopleStage PeopleStage is a campaign planning and management tool. It enables you to create, personalise, and target campaigns using data within your Apteco system. Campaigns can consist of several communications over months as part of a customer journey driven by decisions made via interactions or responses. Campaigns can send via multiple channels including broadcasters and social.
PeopleStage library The PeopleStage library contains a mixture of items from both PeopleStage and your connected Apteco system. The library auto-filters and displays items relevant to your location in the diagram.
Person level campaign Person level campaigns ensure each message can only send one communication per person. This style of campaign works well for marketing where it is the person who is of interest.
Plan status When setting up a new area or campaign, your work will be in plan mode.
Pool step Adding a pool step marks the end of a communication chapter within your campaign. People held in a pool will remain there until you either extend the campaign or drain the pool manually or on a schedule.
Pools Pools act as a holding area for individuals flowing through a campaign until they are selected for the next stage.
Relative schedule A relative campaign schedule begins when the proceeding step in the campaign has been run – e.g. people flow into the proceeding pool causing the volume to change.
Responses Responses are items that define what constitutes a response to your messages. The most common responses tracked within a campaign are digital and transactional.
Scheduling You can run each audience on different types of schedules. These can be from a single instance to repeating multiple schedules and across different time zones. You can also run audiences based on Live Data or Realtime Stream event triggers without updating your Apteco System.
Scheduling reports You can schedule these reports to email you regular updates.
Seeds A seed usually contains contact details for representatives in your organisation and confirms the accuracy and punctuality of your marketing communications. A seed list helps you track what campaigns are being sent from your organisation and allows you to respond to any customer questions or complaints.
Seeds editor The seed editor displays any existing seed lists and allows you to create a new seed or seed list ‘set’.
Single instance A single instance campaign schedule enables you to run the campaign once at a specific time and date.
Social media campaigns PeopleStage integrates with Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn as well as Google Ads and Google Analytics. You can deliver direct posts and adverts, as well as gather engagement metrics such as likes, follows, and comments to track your campaign success over time.
Statistical significance This report does a statistical test to see whether any differences in response rates are significant.
Test status After campaign creation in plan mode, the test environment allows you to check for errors and preview the volume of individuals. Running your campaign through a test produces an output file but does not upload the file or record any communication history.
Transaction level campaign Transactional campaigns allow you to send multiple communications to the same person.
Transactional responses Transactional responses are any actions made as a result of receiving the communication – e.g. booked a holiday.
Voucher set editor Within a campaign, you may need to send each recipient a unique code. These codes are often temporary, campaign specific, and not part of your Apteco build. You can upload a list of codes in PeopleStage and use them within the content step.
