Enabling permissions

Note: Before turning on permissions via your Database Management menu, please contact our technical services team for assistance with this process.

Before a system administrator (admin) can make use of the permissions feature, you must turn on permissions via the Database Management menu.

To turn on permissions:

  1. If using an existing system, go to the Database Management menu and run the Migrate Permissions script. This check ensures that the database is ready to use Permissions.

  2. Navigate to the FastStats Service Configuration > Advanced Control menu.

  3. Tick the User Permissions checkbox. This action ensures the FastStats service is ready to control data flow based on permissions.

  4. If using PeopleStage (otherwise skip to step 6), go to the FastStats Web Service Configuration > Client Configuration > PeopleStage > Features menu.

  5. Tick the User Permissions checkbox. This action ensures the PeopleStage Client Interface displays the access allowed from permissions.

  6. Go to the Orbit API Configurator > Permissions service menu.

  7. Tick the User permissions checkbox. This action ensures that the Orbit API is ready to send and receive permissions information, along with the standard requests.

  8. Go to the Orbit Application Settings > Features menu.

  9. Toggle the Permissions and Users/Groups menus option on.

You’ve now enabled the permissions UI in Orbit.
