Data Grid: Overview

What is a Data grid?

A Data Grid is a two dimensional view of the records within a selection. Each row in the grid is a record within the selection.  The column headers show the field names for that column. The cells within the Data Grid are the values for that particular record.

When should I use a Data Grid?

Use the Data Grid tool when you want to see the actual data that has been selected. The Data Grid can be used to simply display the records made by a selection on the screen or to output them into a number of file formats.

Where numeric data forms part of your Data Grid, it is possible to visually explore the relationship between two numeric columns at a time using the Data Grid Scatter Chart.
