Behaviour-based Modelling - Use of Tables without a Date Variable

It is possible to create time-related Behavioural Features even when a table itself has no Date variable. Typically this might be a table such as Order Line or Product - e.g. to examine products in a basket. As long as there is a Date variable on the transactional parent table, you can carry out your analysis.

In the context of Apteco's demo Holidays system, Bookings relates to the transactional basket and Activities shows the likes of tours, attractions, food and drink packages, etc. that a person purchased during their holiday. As part of your investigations, you might wish to use the Activity variable to create a time-related feature. Although the Activities table does not have its own Date variable, instead you can select the Booking Date or Travel Date variable from the transactional parent table - Bookings.
