Audience counts

Audience counts show the number of people in your campaign audience at each stage of the selection process. They help you understand where and why your audience size decreases due to exclusions, deduplication, applied limits, or constraints.

You can view these up-to-date counts in the Target segment side panel in both live mode and draft mode.

Count breakdown

Counts are broken down into:

  • Gross count: The total number of individuals before any constraints or exclusions are applied

  • Drops: The difference between gross and net counts, broken down by the following factors:

    • Limits: Limits applied to the overall target segment or individual audience. See Applying limits.

    • Exclusions: Individuals removed due to exclusion rules (shows specific exclusion types separately)

    • De-duplication: Individuals removed because they appear in multiple groups

    • Re-entry constraints: Individuals excluded because they have already run through this campaign. See Contact strategies.

    • Volume constraints: Campaign-level limits on the total number of individuals. See Volume constraints.

  • Net count: The number remaining after applying all constraints and exclusions

Zero count scenarios

If your campaign shows zero counts across all segments, this typically indicates that a re-entry constraint is active. This means individuals have already moved through the campaign and won't re-enter if you republish it.

Timestamps and accuracy

Each count includes a timestamp for tracking purposes. This visibility helps you understand the logic behind audience size changes, making it easier to trust the data and refine your campaigns effectively.
