Audience splits

An audience split allows you to split your audience into different segments and send each segment down different paths of your multi-stage campaign journey.

Adding an audience split

To add an audience split:

  1. Click on the + sign at the stage of your journey where you want to create different paths. This is usually below a Time Delay step.

  2. Under Controls, click Audience Split. A new step appears in your campaign journey.

  3. Click + Add Split.

  4. Give the step a descriptive name.

Note: You have an audience called Everyone else by default. You can rename this if you wish.

You can now begin adding paths to your audience split.

  5. Click + Add Path.

  6. Give your path a descriptive name.

Your new path appears in the side panel above your default audience.

Note: Paths you add are hierarchical, meaning the top path is the most important, decreasing in importance as you move down. Anything that you place at the top becomes the leftmost path. You can move them around how you see fit.

Possible paths could be Opt out or Cancelled depending on the nature of your campaign.

An example three way audience split could look something this.

Audience splits exit the journey straight away by default. If you want to hold your segments in the journey you can add another time delay step before the exit journey step.
