Pausing and resuming

There are occasions where campaigns must be prevented from running, such as:

  • Changes to campaign logic

  • Data issues preventing the latest data inclusion

  • Issues with the creative or ad hoc campaigns taking priority over other campaigns scheduled to run

Whatever the reason, you have the ability to pause and resume a campaign in the Apteco Orbit journey builder allowing you to minimize risk and adapt to changing needs.

Pausing a campaign in the journey builder

Once a campaign has been published live, it adheres to the schedule set up at the time of creation.

The Offer Campaign in this example is published on a weekly schedule and is due to run.

To pause the campaign:

  1. Click Pause, located on the right side of the screen.

  2. A prompt appears, asking you to confirm the action.

Click Pause to continue the process.

Once paused, the campaign is tagged as paused.

The Resume button replaces the Pause button for when you are ready to resume the campaign.

Resuming a campaign

Resuming a campaign with no edits

Where a campaign has been paused but no change in the campaign journey or schedule is needed, the campaign can just be resumed again as required.

To resume a campaign:

  1. Click Resume, located on the top right of the screen.

  2. A prompt appears, asking you to confirm the action.

Click Resume to continue to process.

Once resumed, the campaign is tagged as successful, and the campaign is live.

Resuming a campaign after it has been edited

You may need to edit or amend the campaign before resuming.

To resume a campaign after you have made edits:

  1. When paused, you can move the campaign to edit mode by clicking Edit.

The campaign then moves into edit mode, where you can make amendments.

  2. Once you have made changes, you can republish the campaign by clicking Publish.

This publishes the campaign to live, picking up the new amendments and moving the campaign out of its paused state.

Note: If the campaign has been moved to edit mode but changes are no longer required, then remember to exit edit mode using the action menu on the top right side of the screen. This navigates you back to view mode of the draft version of the campaign. You can then use the draft/live drop down menu to choose to view the paused version of the campaign.

Viewing paused campaigns

You can view paused campaigns on the campaigns tab. You can identify these by looking for campaigns with a paused tag.

Even though you may have created the campaign using a reoccurring schedule, No Next Run information remains blank. Once the campaign is resumed, the subsequent scheduling details are populated.
