Data mappings
Data mapping is a process that allows you to choose how the data (from your data sources) is represented.
With Apteco connect, you can map data to either a Customer Data Table (CDT) or a User Defined Table (UDT).
Customer Data Tables
A CDT is a table within the Apteco CDP. By choosing to map your data to CDT, you are creating a link from your source data to these known data structures. This type of data mapping allows you to later set validation and identity resolution rules in order to normalise and deduplicate your data. You don't have to choose how to best represent the data you are bringing to the system - we’ll do that for you!
User Defined Tables
By choosing to map your data to a User Defined Table, you're declaring a wholly customisable definition. This means that you fully define how your data is represented in the system.
Note: If you're not using the Apteco CDP, you're not given a choice of data mappings as only the UDT option can be used and therefore it will not be displayed.
