Decision Tree Example: Building the Tree

Having set up the Dimensions and Analysis Selection, and optionally the Base Selection, you are ready to build a Decision Tree.

Building a New Tree

To build a new tree, click the Build button.

To see the tree building switch to any of the tabs in the Tree View Panel.

There are a number of options which can be altered relating to how the Decision Tree is built.  These are explored in more detail in the sections:

• Decision Tree: How do I set the Algorithm Options?

By clicking the Pause button, you can interrupt the tree while it is building in order to modify how it is built.

You can then modify the Build Options, Marketing Costs or the configuration of the dimensions.  You can also specify specific nodes to either grow from or prevent from growing.  Use the Continue Build button to restart the build process from where you left off.

Note that if you make any changes to the analysis or base selection, you will need to build a new tree.
