Saving, editing, or publishing changes
Once set up, there are several options that can be chosen to proceed with the Campaign.
Save and stay in edit mode
If the intention is to Save the campaign but carry on editing later, then click Save.
Note: If you navigate away from the campaign, the campaign remains in your control, which means only those with the correct role can edit it, until you choose to exit edit mode.
Editing a locked campaign
When you edit a campaign, the system enters edit mode, preventing simultaneous access by others:
-
Users without the required role get a notification that the campaign is being edited by another person, avoiding unintentional changes.
-
Administrators with the 'Force Publish' role can take over edit access of the campaign from the current user, enabling them to continue work or publish the campaign.
Furthermore, if you try to modify a campaign that has been taken over, you are notified of the status to prevent accidental overwrites.
Save and exit edit mode:
If the intention is to Save the campaign and then requlinquish control so that others can edit it, then click Save. After saving, use the action menu to select Exit Edit Mode.
Discard changes
When any changes have been made, rather than save there is always an option to discard the changes and revert back to the last saved version.
When unwanted changes have been made, navigate to the action menu to Discard Changes and revert back.
Publishing a campaign
If the intention is to Publish the campaign to allow the recipients to receive the email, click Save. This saves the changes made during the campaign set up.
Saving the changes enables the publish button. Click Publish to activate the campaign in Live mode. The campaign moves from edit mode to view mode, once live.
A campaign summary screen appears, recapping the audiences, channel, manual approval and schedule selected.
For more detail, see Campaign summary.
Note: At the bottom of the summary, you'll find the option of Recording communication history for your campaign.
Note: If further changes are required, Edit the campaign to move it into the Edit mode. Remember that you need to publish any changes that have been made subsequently applied to an already Published campaign.
