You can use the Content step to add information into the output file and/or campaign Communication History. Such information is above and beyond the minimum requirements of the channel.
For example, the minimum requirements for an ESP would usually include First Name, Surname and Email Address. However, for a particular communication, you might also want to reference an individual’s last transaction or transaction date; through the Content step, you can add this extra information to personalise the creative, even though it is not a pre-requisite to ensure that the ESP can send the message.
You can use data variables stored in the System explorer window of your FastStats system and/or PeopleStage functionality to define this additional information. Every Content Field added within a Content step becomes its own column on the output file.
